Because we live in the country, it is important that our au-pair drives, and is confident about driving in the UK and on the left side of the road! We will help you in the beginning and will give you lessons. All of our au-pairs have quickly adapted to driving in England and can confidently drive by themselves after only just a few lessons.
A comfortable car (Vauxhall/Opel Astra) will be provided for yuor use which will be maintained, taxed, insured to UK law by us for your use and enjoyment. Fuel costs are not included. We do not generally expect our au-pair to drive our children until they are experienced and confident about driving.
We provide a mobile phone (pay as you go) with a UK sim card enabling you to keep in contact with friends around, and also enable us to contact you should there be an emergency.
Our house has eight bedrooms and you will have your own bedroom equipped with appropriate bedroom furniture including a wardrobe and chest of drawers. We will also let you have a TV and a DVD player. There is a convenient shower/bathroom next to your bedroom.
We have a high speed internet connection (broadband) and our 2 computers are loaded with all the popular software including MS Office and Skype. Our au-pair is given free use to the internet during the day, subject to availability. If possible we do recommend that you bring your own notebook/laptop for your convenience .
